Creating the Best Self-Care Ritual With TheraBox (May 2019 Review)

Creating the Best Self-Care Ritual With TheraBox (May 2019 Review) 3 min read

A few years ago, self-care was the last thing on my mind no matter how stressed I was. I figured I could always just take a nap. It was just so much easier to close my eyes than to plan how I wanted to relax. With TheraBox, it’s always like getting a mini spa in a box. The main thing that sets TheraBox aside from a spa is that it also always includes a meaningful self-care item, as you will see in the TheraBox May 2019.

Inside Therabox May 2019

The TheraBox May 2019 box theme was “Ritual,” and it came with over $150 worth of goodies, including:

  • Balm Shell Facial Cleansing Balm from Flower Mill ($42)
  • Rose Buds and Himalayan Salts Bath Soak from Aminnah ($29.99)
  • #20 Sensitive Skin Face Toner from Way of Will ($27)
  • Lavender & Mint Body Wash from Modern Skyn ($26)
  • Natural & Organic Soul Slave from The Flowered Life ($7.49)
  • Magnetic Bookmarks from The Happy Shoppe ($5)
  • Organic Lavender Vanilla Lip Balm from Moroccan Magic ($3.99)
  • Bloom Where You’re Planted Journal from Eccolo ($18)

A Simple Ritual

This month’s box has a few brands we’ve seen before, like Modern Skyn Alchemy, so we know that these products are of high quality. They are also all full sized products, which is rare to see in subscription boxes of this price! You really get your bang for your buck with TheraBox.

The lavender and mint body wash from Modern Skyn had a pleasant smell that wasn’t overpowering. It was a perfect blend of the two. Mint has a very relaxing scent, and it was a great way to relax during a hot shower.

The next bath product was the rosebuds and Himalayan salts bath soak. My first impression of the product was that it was pleasing to the eyes. As a fan of rose scents, I was excited to use this.

Flower Mill’s balm shell facial cleansing balm had a gentle formula made with all-natural, organic, and vegan ingredients. I don’t have sensitive skin, but I still prefer to clean my face with gentle, lightly scented products. After a day with makeup on and oils on my face piling up, the last thing I want to do is add use something I can smell all night.

I really like that TheraBox included a facial toner. Combined with the cleansing balm, you have a mini skincare routine with high quality products.

I feel like we sometimes underestimate the power of written words. When you take the time to write your thoughts down, they become more real because they are now concrete. Written words are something you can see and interpret, whereas your thoughts might shift and change faster than you can understand them. That’s why I’m excited to complete this journal and see where my mind is at midway into 2019.

The soul salve and lip balm are perfect to throw in your bag. The Flowered Life’s soul salve can be used on dry skin, burns, bug bites, and more. It can also be used simply to rehydrate your skin. Speaking of rehydration, the lavender vanilla lip balm will sooth and nourish your lips during the increasing heat of the summer.

Final Thoughts (Plus a discount code!)

The self-care activities are always something I look forward to when I open my TheraBox. Self-care and mindfulness are always on the top of my list of things to do for myself. You never know what to expect. One month you could get audio, another month you could have an ecourse. This month was a physical workbook, and it’s always good to reconnect with the physical world every once and a while.
