In a perfect world, everything goes according to plan. You’re never late, everything is ready to go, and you don’t even have to worry about what to eat for breakfast because your meal plan has got you covered… Yeah. In reality, it’s not always like that. Thankfully, products like Oats Overnight exist to make our day just a little bit easier.

What Is Oats Overnight?

Oats Overnight is prepackaged oatmeal designed to be prepared overnight and has been featured on Muscle & Fitness, Good Housekeeping, and more. What separates Oats Overnight from regular old oatmeal is that it is made only with ingredients like maca root, cacao, flax, chia, real fruit, and more. There are also gluten-free with vegan options for those who want it. The amount of protein in each serving was the game changer for me, with almost 21-26 grams of protein for every meal! There is also only 4-9 grams of sugar in each serving.

Oats Overnight is made with quality ingredients. As seen below, the list of ingredients is plain and simple. There’s no question about what you are eating!

There are a variety of flavors. The plant-based flavors, which are the vegan options, are maple pancakes, blueberry cobbler, and peanut butter cookie dough cacao crunch. These flavors are naturally sweetened and enhanced with pea protein.

The classic flavors are green apple cinnamon, strawberries and cream, chocolate peanut butter banana, peach upside down cake, and mocha dream. These flavors are fused with whey protein, and there are caffeinated options.

Oats Overnight Taste Test

Because of the added protein, I was expecting the Oats Overnight to taste chalky like a protein shake. Surprisingly, based on the flavor, you wouldn’t have guessed that protein was added! The oats tasted just like the flavor on the package, and it wasn’t overly sweet like the prepacked oatmeal you get at the store.

The recommended serving size for milk with Oats Overnight is 8 ounces, but you can add more or less based on your preferences. I like my oatmeal to be more on the runny side, and I usually add more than 8 ounces. You can use water to make your oats, but it tastes a lot better with milk or almond milk. My recommendation is almond milk.

Price Breakdown

When it comes to prepackaged meals, I always like to break down the price to see if it is worth it. Here are the breakdowns for the different packs:

  • Starter Pack: Three packs of Oats Overnight plus a BlenderBottle: $18 total. The BlenderBottle is worth $9, so with this pack, you’re paying $3/meal.
  • 12 Pack of Oats Overnight: $45 for a one-time purchase or $3.75/meal. If you do a monthly subscription, it is still only $45/month and you get an extra pack, which comes out to $3.36/meal.
  • 24 Pack of Oats Overnight: $85 for a one-time purchase or $3.54/meal. If you do a monthly subscription, it is still only $85/month and you get three extra packs, which comes out to $3.15/meal.

The 12- and 24-packs don’t have the option for the Mocha Dream and Peach Upside Down Cake flavors. You will have to buy those separately for $16/4-pack, $45/12-pack, or $85/24-pack.

For each meal, you are paying about the same as you would for a cup of coffee in the morning. I’ve actually ditched my morning coffee and replaced it with Oats Overnight!

Why I’m Sticking to Oats Overnight

Growing up, I often skipped breakfast. It’s a bad habit, and it is one that still comes up from time to time. With how easy it is to prepare, I have no excuse when it comes to making breakfast. I also have a hard time meeting my protein goals without exceeding my fat intake for the day. (I’m a meat lover. What can I say?) This product solves both of those problems for me.

As a college student, the affordability is definitely a plus. I won’t be making Oats Overnight my go-to breakfast every day for the rest of my life, but it will be my choice for most days.
