It’s that time of year! School is right around the corner, and you can practically smell all the pumpkin spice products starting to make a come back everywhere you go. Before you know it, Halloween will come and go, Thanksgiving is next, and then you’re suddenly getting Christmas presents together! Don’t let the season pass you by without adding a few items on your fall bucket list.

For Adventurers

  • Go canoeing or kayaking.
  • Try geocaching.
  • Hike a trail you’ve never been on.
  • Jump in a huge pile of leaves.
  • Take a camping trip.
  • Go apple picking at a local orchard.
  • Go for a drive on roads filled with trees.

For the Musically and Artistically Inclined

  • Go to a music festival.
  • Make some autumn crafts, like a leaf wreath, apple or leaf prints, autumn sticker tree, and so much more. Check out Pinterest for some ideas!
  • Sit at the park and capture the changing colors using your medium of choice (photography, painting, drawing, etc).
  • Decorate your home with fall decor.
  • Listen to Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons – Fall.
  • Knit a fall scarf.
  • Write a song inspired by the fall colors or the concept of change.

For Foodies

  • Eat smores at a bonfire.
  • Make your own pumpkin spice food or drink from scratch.
  • Eat a caramel apple.
  • Have a chili cook-off with some friends.
  • Bake cookies shaped like autumn leaves.
  • Roast pumpkin seeds.
  • Bake an apple pie from scratch.
  • Buy a pastry or drink and try to recreate it from taste alone. This is more fun with friends!
  • Recreate your favorite fall dish with a twist. For example, turn a dish vegan or put an ethnic spin on it!

For Nature Lovers

  • Go on a hayride.
  • Take a walk on a scenic trail.
  • Go stargazing.
  • Visit a local farm.
  • Take a camping trip.
  • Find eco-friendly ways to celebrate the upcoming holidays, such as creating decorations with recycle products or making handmade gifts.

For Socialites and Fashionistas

  • Do a fall photoshoot with friends or family. (Or solo if you’re feeling up to it!) Don’t forget the falling leaves!
  • Put together the fall outfit(s) of the year and share them on social media.
  • Get together with your parents or grandparents and cook a hearty family recipe, like soup or chili.
  • Host a get together with a fall theme with pumpkin-based food and drinks.
  • Plan a backyard dinner.
  • Create a scavenger hunt for you and your friends or family. Try breaking into teams for some friendly competition!
  • Host a bonfire.
  • Bring a fresh pie to a neighbor or friend.

  • Jam out to some Halloween songs, like “Monster Mash,” “Spooky Scary Skeletons,” or “Ghost Busters.”
  • Make some homemade goodies for trick or treaters.
  • Read some spooky stories at night.
  • Get together with some friends and share some scary stories.

  • Craft your own DIY Halloween costume.
  • Read up on a real-life supernatural related events, such as the Salem Witch Trials.

For Thanksgiving

  • Create the perfect, classic Thanksgiving meal.
  • Give someone you appreciate a call. Bonus points if you haven’t seen or spoken to them in a while!

  • Sit down with a warm cup of apple cider and make a list of all the things you are thankful for this year.
